Word for Today

I receive SO MANY notes and emails from recipients of the little booklet I send out called, Word for Today’. It is published by United Christian Broadcasters and is also available online. They say how they have been ‘greatly encouraged’ or that ‘it gave me something positive to focus on before I went to sleep’, or that ‘it seemed to be an amazingly appropriate topic on a particular day’. (If you would like a complimentary copy please let me know).
I pray that each and every person reading this, senses the Presence of God envelope you like a cloak, that you may experience fresh hope – more than you have for many years (like a light bulb moment). May you know that the God of all peace and gracious loving encouragement is re-assuring you that He cares for you, and has a good purpose and plan for your life.
Jeremiah 29 verse 11 has these wonderful words for you today, ‘For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of PEACE and not of evil, to give you a FUTURE and a HOPE. When you call upon Me and pray to Me, I WILL LISTEN TO YOU. When you seek Me, YOU WILL FIND ME, WHEN YOU SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART. I WILL be found by you. What a powerful encouraging promise this is when we take it as a personal word to us today!
Be open and expectant that GOD HIMSELF cares about the circumstances you are facing – lack of cash flow, forced sales, health challenges, disappointment, loss and grief. Trust that He cares about the smallest details of your life, where you live, how you will live. HE CARES ABOUT EVERY PRESSING NEED AND THE NEEDS OF YOUR FAMILY. ASK HIM for divine wisdom in all your decision making, commit your way to Him and He SHALL ESTABLISH your path. ASK HIM to make a way where there seems to be no apparent way! Speak to Him like your closest, most trusted Confidant, BELIEVE He hears and WAIT EXPECTANTLY for the answers to come.
I am well aware of the long standing hardships of the bush – fluctuating market prices, droughts, then flooding rains and the loss of income that has resulted. The angst caused by mining and intrusion onto our land that never crossed our minds ago when we went without to ‘freehold’ our leasehold properties so many years ago.
KNOW that you are not alone! Many folks continue to pray consistently and diligently for you. I spent most of my life on the land and have experienced (what I now know to be) God’s great grace in the face of every hardship. He doesn’t promise an easy ride, but HE DOES PROMISE THAT HIS STRENGTH WILL BE SUFFICIENT TO SEE US THROUGH OUR MOST DIFFICULT TIMES.
May God bless you and keep you today, may He make His face to shine upon you and give you peace!
